The Arizona Department of Legislature has traditionally prepared its bills with the intention of tabling them in the House of Representatives or Senate. The process associated with the bills has strict rules surrounding the associated activities such as debates, speaking, amendments, approval and closure of the session.
Solution:
In order to simplify the process, Business & Decision deployed two innovative web applications.
As a result of these new web applications, members of the legislature and their staff now:
- Have an online portal powered through a public kiosk through which citizens can request to speak, subject to validation, whereas they formerly complete paperwork to request this opportunity.
- Monitor legislative sessions and the status of bills in real time with all associated documentation
Their new systems have powered more than 5,000 daily active users since deployment.
