Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail oriented Assistant Controller to support our finance and accounting operations. This role will work closely with the VP of Finance to oversee day-to-day accounting functions, ensure compliance with GAAP, support audits, and help improve financial processes and controls. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, a proactive mindset, is data-driven, and has experience within a project-based business structure.
Responsibilities
• Lead the month-end and year-end close processes
• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements
• Assist in developing and maintaining internal controls
• Collaborate on budgeting, forecasting, and review project performance
• Ensure timely and accurate invoicing, revenue recognition, and expense tracking
• Audit support
• Maintain general ledger integrity and assist in system improvements
• Migration to a new accounting and resource management system
• Consolidation of accounts of foreign entities (Canada, Belgium, India)
• Unit costing and Pricing calculations
• Financial review of bid proposals
• Assist with regulatory reporting and compliance
• Help drive process improvements and automation initiatives
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
• 10 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a professional services environment
• Solid understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
• Experience with Deltek ERP or similar systems
• Strong MS Excel skills and comfort working with data
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Preferred Experience
• Accounting Certification (CPA or CMA)
• Supervisory level accounting experience
• Managerial experience working in an organization that consists of multiple concurrent projects
• Financial consolidation of parent company and subsidiaries
• Familiarity with data analytical tools and dashboards

Environmental and/or Physical Factors
• The work environment and dress code tend to be business casual.
• Long periods in front of a computer terminal.
• Regularly required to sit, use hands, talk, and hear. Occasionally required to walk and reach.
• Work hours are typically 8am to 5:00pm, however, working extended hours and weekends may at times be required to meet project deadlines.
Compensation-$ 140, 000- $ 150,000 Annual
