Director of Marketing and Communications

Company Background

Founded in 1992, Mi-Case is the industry leader in fully integrated offender management software solutions, provides industry expertise and consulting within the Public Sector for Digital Transformation.

Mi-Case leverages a unique combination of technical, functional and industry specialization as well as partnerships with key software vendors to deliver maximum value add projects.

About the position

You're a marketing leader who does your best work when something is already moving. You don't need a rebuild. You want to inherit a well positioned brand, already on its way. You desire speed, a real story to work with, and the authority to decide where it goes next—and how far.

Good, because we're already moving fast, and the big question for you is: where to next?

Who is Mi-Case? There are whole pieces of American infrastructure that nobody has paused long enough to make run well. Prison systems. County jails. The licensing boards that decide whether someone gets to work. We got deep into those problems, delivered on our promises, and stayed to keep making it better for our clients. In six years, we’ve grown from partners in two whole state corrections departments to thirteen corrections departments. All built on twenty years of experience. Our track record boasts something none of our competitors have: zero failed implementations, something that shows we don’t just know how to build software, we know how to deliver it.

None of that means we operate like a government vendor. We move fast, we build like a tech company, we argue about typography and good design, and over that last six years we've built a brand with a real point of view. A voice people recognize. A thought leadership program with authority behind it. A market that finally knows our name.

Now it's compounding. One product has become four. Corrections, jails, regulatory licensing, trust operations. A national partnership is putting us in rooms we couldn't get into alone. New markets, new buyers, and more runway ahead of this brand than behind it.

The foundation is built and the brand is at speed. What happens next is a choice, and that choice is about to be your job.

You'd own brand, marketing strategy, comms, and the live event program. A designer and a marketing manager who are genuinely good. A seat where direction gets set and a leadership team that expects you to have a view.

Take a look at where we took it in the last six years. Our question is simple: Where could you take us next?

Key responsibilities

Strategy and executive leadership

  • Own marketing and communications strategy across all products, current and emerging: Mi-OMS, Mi-JMS, Mi-Licensing, and Mi-Trust, with new products consistently in the pipeline
  • Maintain and evolve a repeatable go-to-market framework that any product launch can run through.
  • Represent marketing in executive and partner-level conversations. Bring a point of view, support it with evidence, and translate company strategy into marketing priorities.
  • Set annual and quarterly plans, own the marketing budget, and define how success gets measured.

Event strategy and live brand experience

  • Own the annual event portfolio and its budget: industry conferences, partner events, and the Mi-Case customer summit.
  • Set the creative platform for each major event. One organizing idea that holds booth, advertising, print, giveaways, and stage presentation together, directed through production with the designer and outside vendors.
  • Own the customer summit end to end: programming, speakers, venue and vendor contracts, invitation strategy, run of show, and follow-through.
  • Develop the presentations that carry the brand from the stage, including script, rehearsal, and technical content built with product and engineering.
  • Direct co-marketing with strategic technology partners: joint presence, shared messaging, and how each company shows up in the other’s rooms.
  • Build the demand system around each event and report what the room was worth. Pre-event outreach, on-site capture, post-event nurture, pipeline sourced and influenced.

Brand and content

  • Serve as the final authority on Mi-Case brand voice, visual identity, and cross-product positioning.
  • Lead the corrections thought leadership program, including editorial direction and coaching for named authors.
  • Direct content strategy and production across website, email, social, video, and events.
  • Own executive communications, including customer-facing announcements and partnership messaging.

Team leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop a two-person senior team: a Marketing Manager who owns day-to-day execution and a Senior Designer who owns creative production.
  • Set clear priorities, protect the team from reactive prioritization, knowledge on how to give experienced creative teams their room to do their best work
  • Build the hiring plan and org design as the department grows.
  • Demand generation and sales partnership
  • Partner with sales on pipeline contribution, enablement materials, and competitive positioning.
  • Own the marketing technology stack, including HubSpot, and the reporting that comes with it.

Compensation-$140,000-$160,000 annual
